Local Area Information
Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. In summer (October to March) temperatures range from 16°C to 38°C and in Winter (May, June & July) from 5°C to 26°C. Summer days and nights are generally hot and humid outdoors while Winter days are mild and very comfortable with evenings and early mornings being cold. The Lowveld has summer rainfall. The habitats range from mixed combretum woodland on deep, sandy, soils to open grassed seep-lines along the slopes and thick acacia woodland along the drainage lines. These habitats support a wide variety of predator and prey species. Please note that this is a MALARIA area.

Accommodation
We have two lodges here at Ulusaba.
One is perched high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill) and we call it Rock Lodge. Here you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, the beauty of the lowveld (bushy grassland plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Moutain range far in the distance. Accommodation comprises of our two new Makwela Suites, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and a stunning stand alone, split level Master Suite, which is sure to bring out the romantic in you. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for those wishing to bring little cubs of their own!

Safari Lodge is built along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed. The rooms are built 'tree house' style and you really get the feeling of being at the heart of life in the bush. Your room will provide fascinating views of the animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Safari Lodge - Under a canopy of ancient trees, overlooking the Mabrak watercourse is the magnificent Safari Lodge, which offers three exceptional Safari rooms, three luxury Elephant rooms and four outstanding River rooms, for a maximum of 20 guests. Wooden swing bridges and candle lit-dinners in the Boma are part of the charm and splendour of Safari Lodge.

Ulusaba Game Reserve is the epitome of luxury safari travel. On your African Safari here, you'll retreat in style and comfort in one of the two exclusive lodges situated on the reserve. Experienced and knowledgeable rangers and trackers will lead your twice daily game viewings as you discover Africa's Big Five.

At the end of the day, return to your luxury safari camp to relax at the Aroma Boma beauty treatment centre, enjoy a game of tennis, take a swim in the sparkling pool or workout in the fully equipped gym. Afterwards, savour anauthentic meal under the African stars that is sure to tantalise the taste buds.

Children's Policy
Children of all ages are very welcome at Rock Lodge, however we don't allow children or infants at Safari Lodge. Children are welcome to participate in game drives but unfortunately are not able to participate in Safari Walks. Infants are not able to participate in our regular game viewing schedule however we offer Cubs Activities at Rock Lodge complete with Activity books and a Cub's Club to join when they leave. Baby-sitting is available at no extra cost. As with any guest, notice to guarantee the cubs cuisine meets with any request. Simple snacks and light meals for children such as sandwiches, can be prepared at the lodge on request.

Rates

Rock Lodge
These rates are per room, per night and are in South African Rand. They include accommodation, all food and beverages, including South African Fine Wines and French Champagne, as detailed, 14% VAT and a South African Tourism Bed Levy. Flights and transfers to and from Ulusaba are not included.

Safari Lodge
These rates are per room, per night and are in South African Rand. They include accommodation, all food and beverages, including South African Fine Wines and French Champagne, as detailed, 14% VAT and a South African Tourism Bed Levy. Flights and transfers to and from Ulusaba are not included.

Terms and Conditions

Payment and Confirmation

Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of a 30% non-refundable accommodation deposit. The final 70% plus any payments due to external transport or transfer operators is due 42 days prior to arrival and wewill remind you of this at the time.

How you go about paying for your booking depends on where you are making your reservation so your reservations office will provide full details when they send you your invoice.

Cancellation

Firstly, as with any travel, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance that gives full cancellation cover. One of our reservations offices can give advice if you are not sure where to purchase this. Secondly, we must receive all cancellations in writing to avoid any errors!

This can be done by e-mail, letter or fax. We will then confirm the cancellation back to you in writing and provide you with a cancellation number.

Thirdly since we incur costs in cancelling your booking you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges. Please note that if a payment is not received on time we reserve the right to release your reservation, regardless of any payment already received. We will make every effort to contact you prior to taking this course of action and will remind you of payments due.

Your 30% deposit is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.

If you cancel between 42 and 21 days prior to your Ulusaba arrival date, a cancellation charge equal to 75% of your accommodation charge will be levied, this is made up of the 30% deposit and a further 45% penalty.

There may also be cancellation fees levied by third parties such as flight or transfer operators so we will advise you of these at the time.

If you cancel within 21 days of your Ulusaba arrival date no refund will be given. Please note that clients are liable for any payments outstanding on the date cancellation is received.
