Exeter - River Private Game Lodge

Introduction
River Private Game Lodge comprises eight double suites. All suites are equipped with en-suite bathroom and shower, outside shower, private plunge pool, mini bar, air-conditioning, overhead fans, private lounge, direct dial telephone and game-viewing deck, hairdryer, insect spray and mosquito repellent.

Local Area Information
Situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. In summer (October to March) temperatures range from 16°C to 38°C and in Winter (May, June & July) from 5°C to 26°C. Summer days and nights are generally hot and humid outdoors while Winter days are mild and very comfortable with evenings and early mornings being cold. The Lowveld has summer rainfall. Exeter Private Game Reserve is located in the Eastern Mixed Bushveld, with an annual rainfall of 800mm per year. The habitats range from mixed combretum woodland on deep, sandy, soils to open grassed seep-lines along the slopes and thick acacia woodland along the drainage lines. These habitats support a wide variety of predator and prey species. Please note that this is a MALARIA area.

Activities
At Exeter Game Lodges guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily as well as a guided bush walk with an experienced game ranger, all of which are conducted in prime "Big Five" territory. Experience the thrill of lions hunting, elephants on the move or Rhino's wallowing in the mud.

Bird-watching and dining under the ancient Jackalberry Tree, a brisk work out in the well-equipped gym, or simply relaxing in privacy beside the sparkling pool on the deck of your suite offer delightful diversions for those resistant to the seduction of siesta. Bush walks commence from the Fever Tree lined entrance and return back to camp using the suspension bridge over the riverbed. The gift shop and an extensive library of natural history reference works, further enhance the experience.

Children's Policy
River Private Game Lodge welcomes children of all ages.
Children over the age of 10 are allowed on game drives.
Children over the age of 12 are allowed on bush walks.

Children of 5 years or younger are not permitted to participate in the regular game drives. Child minders can be booked at the time of check-in, and activities such as videos, coloring-in books etc. are available. Book at the lodge. Shortened game drives can be arranged for the relevant children (free of charge) subject to prevailing weather and availability of land rovers and Exeter Rangers. These services cannot be pre-booked.

Children of 6 to 11 years of age are permitted to participate in the regular game drives, at the discretion of Exeter 's Management and/or Exeter 's Rangers. Child minders can be booked at the time of check-in, and activities such as videos, colouring-in books etc. are available for children. Book at the lodge. Shortened game drives can be arranged for the relevant children (free of charge) subject to prevailing weather and availability of land rovers and Exeter Rangers. These services cannot be pre-booked.

• Children are classified as such if they are 11 years and younger
• Exeter does not accept triples (3 adults sharing), unless the third adult is between the ages of 12 and 14 years.
• Children between 0 and 5 years of age cannot participate on scheduled Game Drives or walks.
• Children between 6 and 11 years of age are accommodated on Game Drives game walks at the discretion of Exeter 's Management.
• Child Minders are available in the evenings as well as during Game Drives but are subject to the following conditions:
• Must be booked on the day of arrival at Exeter ;
• Must be paid directly at Exeter on departure at a rate of R25 per hour;
• Distances between rooms will be taken into consideration when booking children into their own room in Exeter where triples cannot be accommodated;
• Private land rovers cannot be pre-booked or paid for in advance and can only be confirmed on check-in at Exeter , subject to availability.

Early dinners for children are always available.

SHARING POLICY

• 3 Adults per room: Accepted where applicable, if the third adult is between the ages of 12 and 14 years of age.  
• 4 Adults per room: Not accepted  
• 2 Adults + 1 Child per room: Accepted where applicable subject to availability
• 2 Adults + 1 Child + infant of 2 years or younger (in a cot) per room: Accepted where applicable
