Exeter - Leadwood Private Game Lodge

Introduction
It was in the shade of the gigantic Ebony trees that grace the gardens of the camp that the original pioneering families camped in the cold July of 1937. On the first night of their adventure, a male lion harassed them in their makeshift camp! Much has changed since those early days; comfort; elegance and style in particular, but much has remained the same. Exeter Private Game Reserve is still a wild part of Africa where lions still roam free. Exeter Private Game Reserve has recently undergone a major refurbishment after the devastating floods of the earlier part of the new millennium. The character of the original Exeter Ranch Safaris has been retained in the newly constructed Exeter Private Game Reserve.

Local Area Information
Situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. In summer (October to March) temperatures range from 16°C to 38°C and in Winter (May, June & July) from 5°C to 26°C. Summer days and nights are generally hot and humid outdoors while Winter days are mild and very comfortable with evenings and early mornings being cold. The Lowveld has summer rainfall. Exeter Private Game Reserve is located in the Eastern Mixed Bushveld, with an annual rainfall of 800mm per year. The habitats range from mixed combretum woodland on deep, sandy, soils to open grassed seep-lines along the slopes and thick acacia woodland along the drainage lines. These habitats support a wide variety of predator and prey species. Please note that this is a MALARIA area.

Accommodation
Our Exeter Leadwood Lodge is unique in that it only has 4 rooms, making it the most exclusive camp in the Sabi Sands Reserve, accommodating only 8 guests at any one time. Not to be outdone, the group in its entirety is able to host groups as large as 72 in varying aspects of luxury.

Activities
At Exeter Game Lodges guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily as well as a guided bush walk with an experienced game ranger, all of which are conducted in prime "Big Five" territory. Experience the thrill of lions hunting, elephants on the move or Rhino's wallowing in the mud.

Bird-watching and dining under the ancient Jackalberry Tree, a brisk work out in the well-equipped gym, or simply relaxing in privacy beside the sparkling pool on the deck of your suite offer delightful diversions for those resistant to the seduction of siesta. Bush walks commence from the Fever Tree lined entrance and return back to camp using the suspension bridge over the riverbed. The gift shop and an extensive library of natural history reference works, further enhance the experience.

Children's Policy
Children under the age of 12 years are regrettably not permitted.
